countant to join an industry leading manufacturing company supporting the oil and gas industry This position will report directly to the Accounting Manager and will interface with Engineering RD project managers. Responsible for RD projects analysis of actual vs. budget variances and preparing monthly financials. Attend RD project meetings and correlate project stage of completion in comparison to costs incurred. Support annual RD budgeting and resource allocation efforts and compile budget reporting for senior management. Assist with the monthly closing process, monthly variance analysis, and other aspects of accounting and reporting for both the business unit and corporate parent. DUTIES RESPONSIBILITIES Assist with the preparation of monthly RD analysis and schedules and prepare various other monthly ad hoc financial reports and reconciliations Prepare schedules for RD meetings to compare project actuals vs budget variances Assist with creating annual budgets and updating forecasts on a quarterly basis for RD Participate in monthly closing process when necessary including but not limited to monthly journal entries, monthly variance analysis, and accounting for intercompany transactions Possess an understanding of consolidated and consolidating financial statements Assist in various special projects and in-depth analysis on a regular basis Cultivate a working relationship with operations management to provide timely, useful financial analysisA Bachelors Degree in Accounting is required, combined with two years min accounting background, public accounting background is a huge plus CPA is a plus Expertise to travel up to on week per month is required.
